Starting weight

Starting Weight: 12st 5lbs (175 lbs)

Goal: 11st 5lbs (161 lbs)

I’m not going to set myself some outrageous goal to lose for example 4 stones, I think if I keep the goal realistic and close to my weight now I will be more determined to reach it.

The food list revisited

I said yesterday that I’m cutting out 5 fatty foods first completely then I’ll move on to the rest as I go along. From experiencing just one day of dieting I have realised that this diet is not going to work if  I stick to this idea. So the new plan:

  1. Chocolates
  2. Crisps
  3. Biscuits
  4. Chips
  5. Burgers
  6. Cakes
  7. Pizza
  8. Kebab
  9. Fizzy drinks
  10. Beers (yes I drink beer)
  11. Fast foods (Macdonalds/KFC/Chinese e.t.c)
  12. Ice cream

The list of foods above is what I’m going to cut out completely, this is the only way for this diet to work fully.

Day 1

Today is the start of my diet, the day where my life changes forever. I’m excited and determined to commit to the task ahead of me.

My diet has officially started even though I’m  buying my scale later on, I decided to buy a “Weight Watchers” scale from Argos.  The brand name never influenced me into selecting that particular model, I chose this scale because it has gone down in price, I’m always looking out for a bargain.

Its day 1 and the first day of snow!

Breakfast: For breakfast this morning I decided to start the day with something healthy so I chose 2 pieces of Weetabix accompanied with organic semi-skinned milk. I am proud to say, I added no sugar and it tasted lovely.

The good thing about the week is that I’m usually out, so I’m not temped to eat that much. I think I’ve always been that way, I’m not the sort of person to be tempted into eating by walking past a fast food shop, I can easily walk past Macdonalds and not get the craving for food. I just need to thank God on that one, because if I was tempted by every food shop I saw I would probably be around a size 24 and I’m not joking.

I was really busy today so I skipped lunch, which my dad has told me repeatedly is a bad idea. The body thinking it has a limited amount of food, stores up the fat from the food the next time you eat. I was planning to go home after University and get something to eat, but I met my sister and we did a bit of shopping.

Dinner: Chips. I’m sitting here thinking to myself, whats the point of a diet if I’m eating chips. I am certainly going the wrong way about it, how can I fail on the first day. I need to revisit my food list.

I am so proud of myself, the whole day I drank nothing but water! I can’t remember the last time I did that.

I know its late but I couldn’t hold my hunger any longer, so I decided to put on two pieces of toast (no butter). The time is 22:30 and its the worst thing to eat really late, as the digestive system has to work harder than it should that time of night. It needs a rest and it gets it when we sleep.

The Food list

The basic food and drinks I just have to face up to, are UNHEALTHY and heavy in saturated fat.

  1. Chocolates
  2. Crisps
  3. Biscuits
  4. Chips
  5. Burgers
  6. Cakes
  7. Pizza
  8. Kebab
  9. Fizzy drinks
  10. Beers (yes I drink beer)
  11. Fast foods (Macdonalds/KFC/Chinese e.t.c)
  12. Ice cream

Putting all the main “junk foods” down that I eat on a list makes me really embarrassed that I eat all these. The only positive thing from this is that I am now doing something about it.

I’m going to pick 5 foods to start off with to cut out completely  and the rest I will slowly cut out once I’ve mastered my diet.

The top 5 foods that I’m cutting out completely are:

  1. Crisps
  2. Fizzy drinks
  3. Kebabs
  4. Chocolates
  5. Beers

These next few days are going to be tough as I get these cravings out of my system.

My diet will officially start when I buy my scale tomorrow.

Time to get into shape!

I have had enough!

I am sick and tired of squeezing into my size 16 jeans which barely fits me anymore, something needs to be done.

My plan- to stick to a healthy diet…that means no junk food! I’m going to be truthful about my weight and what I eat each day.  This way I keep a track of what I eat and how much weight I lose (thats if I lose anything). Hopefully making this public should encourage me to stick to my diet thus making it successful.

First things first, I need to buy a scale.
